c5 into a delsol. few easy questions to bug you all with.
ok. im gonna be swapping a c5 into a del sol within the next month or so.
i am planning on spening the $4500 over at hmotorsonline to get the 96-00 USDM complete change over (http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30011)
now... im trying to figure out all the extra parts i will need. i know i will need a vtec shift linkage... but not sure what else... that brings me to the questions:
1. will i be able to use the axles & halfshaft that come with the motor?
2. will i be able to use the motor mounts that come with the motor?
3. will i be able to use the wiring harness that comes with the motor?
4. will i be able to use the ecu that comes with the motor, or do i need to get a chipped p28?
5. is it worth it to spend 4500 for the 96-00 when i can spend 4100 on the 96-97 motor/tranny/ecu package, and get the mounts and axles myself? (http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30010)
i think thats all for now...
thanks guys.

I posted this about the B18C5 swap into the 92-95 Civic - all is the same for a Del Sol except for you need Del Sol VTEC shift linkage:
Click This Topic and Read
That was for a JDM Type R engine, but if you read the whole thing it explains the USDM stuff pretty well too.
Bottom line?
Keep the ITR engine harness since it plugs right in - don't listen to anyone else that says it won't work, because it does work. I have the same exact swap, I should know.
