Default C32A Type II in a Ek chassis???

Has anyone heard or seen of the C32 Type II motor in any kind of Civic or Integra Chassis?

Its out of the 93-95 Acura Legend...heres some info

"Honda made a 230 hp (172 kW) "Type II" version of the SOHC C32A engine standard on all coupes, along with a 6-speed manual transmission. The Type-II manual transmission coupe posted a quarter mile time of 14.3 seconds with a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds, and had a top speed of 163 mph (262 km/h)."

So what im thinking is, instead of dropping 5g's on a K swap and doing what everyone else does...why not try to throw this beast in there. You can get a pretty complete motor for around $1,000. Finding the 6 spd tranny may be difficult along with proper shift linkage...also axles may become and issue, BUT!

what im asking if anyone has done this or how hard some of you Guru's may think this would be....230 hp 205 ft/tq and 6 spd trans NOT on a K swap?

i like it....

its the wiring that is an issue with the v6. its alittle more difficult.
but the c23..is that a 4cyl?

the C-series is a 90 degree (of bank separation) V6, where the J-series is a more compact 60 degrees. Hasports kit is for the J-series and there's currently (last i checked) no off the shelf hood that will close over this type of swap in a civic.

DC2-ProdUcTiOnS: i agree the idea of 230hp and 205tq with a 6spd is awesome, but you can get that or better with a J-series, and you'll actually be able to put it in a civic!

what i've read about it, it's pretty affordable for what you get, you just have to have the ability to make it work, do the wiring and come up with some sort of hood for it.

*just confirmed my suspicion; the one you're talking about, the C32A is a longitudnally mounted engine... not so good for trying to mount transversely.

Isn't a C series a bit too big for Civic engine bays without customizing the firewall? I'm sure a J series fit in there perfectly. Also about what hondamark35 said above, the engine is mounted like it's a RWD car, so I don't know how the tranny work.

here's an idea of what the trans situation is... http://www.khulsey.com/acura_rl_engine.html
that's right, the axles come out of the sides of the oil pan!

well i figured if the Corvette C5 motor can go in there (Civette) AND pull off the RWD swap, the C-Series would fit in there without TOO much crazy modification....

The Civette took some considerable fabrication to work...and it was more like a "Look, I can shoehorn an LS2 V8 into a Civic."

Doing the same with a Honda C-series V6 is rather pointless. If you are serious about a V6, do as others suggested and stick to a J-series.

you might as well just swap a j series, at least it has been done and you some what know what to expect, with a c series, good luck man,
but i do think it would be cool.

After looking at that link hondamark35 posted, I'm pretty sure some firewall work will come in play.

more than that too, i'm thinking the torque converter is going to have to be inside the crossmember/steering rack. maybe 100% custom crossmember with a tricky erector-set steering mechanism... haha.

you could be sure the shifter linkage would be short, the trans would be right between the front seats.

yeah, if you're doing it for the performance gain definately not worth it.

...although some guys do things for the challenge or making it work or for the sake of originality. in that case this would fit the bill!
