it goes on the low side, the blue top that say "L" on it. remember that the car has to be on and the a/c on full blast.

Buy the refill bottle that has a gauge on the line. That way when the bottle is empty you can use the gauge later to test it.

the car hold around 22 ounces. if the system is EMPTY, zero psi, and the r-134a is just refridgerent, without any additives, such as leak sealer, or things like subzero and crap, meaning you bought only refridgerent., then add up the ounces on the can, most cans are 12 ounces so you need a hair less than 2 cans. as the can gets sucked in, you will feel the weight of the liquid get less and less, on the second can,w hen there is only a little left, stop. by the way, do not flip the can over upside down to get it in faster, this will let liquid straight in, instead of boiling off within the can, which will go into the compressor, and liquids dont compress, they break compressors, that's bad.

hey, i added the r134-a to my car today, and i turned on my car wiht ac full blast, and then i added the refrigerant, and i only would be feeling all the cold air coming from my engine, and it would be hot inside, so i decided to turn off the ac, just to check if the cold air blowing out from the engine wasn't thet engines air, and it ended up being the cars a/c, and i dont know what to do from now. can anyone help me.

$10 says you didn't pull the system down into a vacuum first before charging. Am I right?

If so, you now have a **** ton of air (which is a non-condensible) in your system completely screwing things up.

This is kind of why I was never a fan of these DIY kits they sell. Sometimes people get in the ballpark and the AC works so-so. Other times it's like this guy's and things get all jacked up.

My advice to you, get the now contaminated refrigerant pulled out at an AC shop and have them pull your system down into a vacuum and see if it hold it. If yes, buy yourself a new filter dryer so you can swap that out. While there, grab a couple cans of 134-a with at least one of those being the one with oil in it. Get one of those charging things with the gauge on it too.

Go back to the AC shop after you swap out your filter dryer and have them pull another vacuum on the system. Go home and charge the system up using the gauge. Like the other guy said, DON'T flip the can upside down. Let the system do what it does. Once you get the proper amount sucked in, enjoy the AC.

Cold air from your engine? Stop what you are doing and get the whole system leak tested, then have it professionally evacuated and recharged to spec by a prof a/c shop. I would rather pay to get it right. My 97 dx blows 40 degrees in the humid nj summers. BRRRRRR
