A/C only blows hot????
Can any of you tell me if you've had this problem? My 1993 Del Sol S' A/C just stopped working one day. I was driving and the sun came out so I pushed the climate control all the way to the blue side. Then I turned the dial to 4 which is the highest setting, then pushed the A/C button. The thing only blew hot air. I waited forever, but still only hot. I know the system is charged, so it can't be low refrigerant. It takes R-12 if that matter. Has anyone had this problem. Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: (d16Booger)
It could be a number of things. You have to try and diagnose it by checking most of these.
1. Bad/clogged heater core.
2. Heater core flap thing (the flap that opens and closes it) is stuck.
3. The A/C compressor is malfunctioning/clutch not engaging, etc.
4. The cable/metal temperature slider bar is disconnected and not actually moving anything.
There are probably more, but these are the ones off the top of my head. Also, how do you know the system is charged? It could have been done recently, but that doesn't mean there isn't a leak and it all came right back out.
