A/C and Heat reversed?

A/C and Heat reversed?
My friend asked me why his A/C and Heat switches are reversed on his 96 coupe. Sure enough when your on Heat - cool air comes out. And on A/C - hot air.
I havent taken his console off yet, but does this sound like something that coulda been messed up when a radio was put in?
Or is it just 2 clips I can swith around.

ok so when you pull on the bowden cable which adjusts to heat check the valve on the water hose going to the heater core and make sure it moves.
also when you push the AC button it make sure your compressor is engaged
