Default A/C in a CX with a B series motor?

Anyone knows what is needed to have A/C in a 92 CX? I have a 99 B16 motor from a SI with the compressor attached to the motor already. However, I was told that the old hoses from the CX wont hook up to the SI compressor b/c of the threads. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You use the stock AC system for the CX (or other 5th gen chassis) plus a del sol b16 ac mount. Not sure on the stuff with your motor. Thats just what I used.

What he said is correct. I have a 95 CX with a GSR swap in it and I have to get the same thing. A DelSol A/C bracket.

i swaped a sirg in my dx hatch. All the stock parts worked fine including the hoses. The only problem i ran into was that only two of the the four bolt patterns bolted up from the ac compressor. I dont think you need to buy a del sol compressor.imo. Ive had my swap in for over a month and there are no problems. with my compressor the hoses should work.

If you only use two bolts they will eventually break causing major problems when you A/C compressor falls off and rips the condensor/lines to hell along with your car....do yourself a favor and get yourself the Del-Sol VTEC A/C bracket and use all four bolts so it mounts like stock!!..good luck!

thanks guys, but all I have right now is the SI compressor that came with the SI motor. It's already connected to the motor. I dont have the cx motor or the cx compressor from the swap that was done 3 months ago. By the way, I thought the del sol vtec ac bracket was for mounting the compressor to the block?

slcxow...ok lets get this straight...you did the swap a few months ago and removed the original CX A/C compressor...so its gone forever?....so now you have the Si motors A/C compressor on you motor currently, but the CX A/C lines dont match up....what you need to do is have some custom lines made up that have the correct ends for the Si A/C compressor....the best way to do that is head to the junkyard and get a set of A/C lines from a car that has the same A/C lines as the Si compressor....then get those ends attached to the current CX A/C lines...I have seen custom hoses made and I have also seen then cut the metal line just before where it attaches to the A/C compressor and braze on the new correct fittings....I guess it depends on what is easiest for you setup...talk to one of you local swap shops and see if they recomend a shop that can build the A/C lines for you...oh and if you have left the current CX A/C lines open to the atmosphere all this time you will probaly have to have your drier replaced since it has been exposed the open air for all this time....good luck!

PS..for future swaps just unbolt the compressor from the old motor and leave the A/C compressor attached to the A/C lines in the engine compartment and drop the new motor in...if you had done it that way you could have used the Del-Sol VTEC A/C bracket and had the old compressor bolt up to the new motor just like stock....this is the cleanest way to do it since you do not have to empty the A/C system freon then fill it again which gets expensive or have to make custom lines which is also costly!

use the del sol vtec bracket. make life easier on yourself instead of having custom a/c lines made
