A/C Conversion
Car:
93 Civic CX HB
B18b1/y21
The car had an r12 system installed by honda but the previous owner removed it all besides the wiring and the underdash evaporator. I also have the ls a/c bracket.
What i want to do is pull the entire system off of an 94-95 eg. From What ive been reading the wires are different between the r12 system and the r134 system.
My questions:
1.) In converting to r134, will the wiring jus consist of redoing connectors to match the r134 system?
2.)Are the connectors for a r12 system different from and r134 system at all?
2.) What belt do i need to use when using the d-series pump on the LS bracket and LS motor?

Re: A/C Conversion
You need the underdash subharness from a '94 - '95 Civic (any model, and it doesn't matter if it had air or not, it's the same harness that plugs into the blower motor and it's about 3 feet long) all lines, evaporator, condenser, compressor from a '94 civic and an A/C bracket from a '97 - '01 CR-V or '94 - '97 Del Sol VTEC (the LS bracket wont work)

Re: A/C Conversion
from what ive read the only difference between the two is the r12 core has 2 pin connector for the evap thermostat and the r134 has a 3 pin......everything else is the same?

Re: A/C Conversion
different how, cuz i mean if i had a complete r12 system it could take the r134 freon.....if the line bolt up, i dont see why i wouldnt be able to use it. i think im gonna try it...worst case scenario...it doesnt work and i have to buy the harness and box right
