A/C Compressor Idler Pulley problems
Okay so if anyone and i mean anyone can help it would be appreciated
so when i was putting on the A/C compressor idler pulley the first time after replacing the head gasket i tightened the bolt too tight on the idler pulley so that when i turned on the car it made a screeching noise because it was pinched to the clutch plate that ended up warping it (also if you can give me the technical term for that plate that looks like a dust cover for the bearings it goes over the bearings, its on the right outermost part of the idler pulley looks like a cover) anyway it warped and long story short it ended up shooting off of the pulley and taking the cover and nut with it on the highway
does anyone know how tight i am suppose to tighten the pulley to the bracket and if this mystery cover/plate is necessarily needed ?
thanks so much !!!

It should, but it's rusty and you didn't say you also need the compressor bracket. You could get just the idler pulley for much less money at a junk yard.
