Default Bypass Valve

I have a 94 LS VTECH, i installed a bypass valve and there is a plug under the intake manifold. I never done a Bypass Valve, does anyone have any ideas as to how should it be place. The plug from that goes in the intake manifold, fits perfectly. I dont know if i explained it correctly. if you have any questions ask. ill try to get some pictures.

Well, we do need more information to help you. What type of bypass? What are you doing to the intake manifold?
