buzzing fuel pump?

buzzing fuel pump?
car: 1999 civic si
problem: when car is off, nothing on, the fuel pump (i THINK) is making a "buzzing/hissing" sound.....it will do it for about 5 seconds, then go away, then do it again 5 minutes later...
anybody have this problem before?? sounds like it's coming from the gas tank, so i'd assume it's the fuel pump...thanks in advance

right...key is out, car is dead.....weird buzzing sounds still persists and is coming from the fuel tank....how could the main relay go out in a 99' si? it's garaged, so it's not in theheat all the time to make the internals go out on the relay....i'm puzzled....

Outside heat and the year of the car really dont matter.... if a relay is going to break or spark-weld itself to one of the contacts for whatever reason.. it will... You asked what was wrong, and I told you
