Default IS Buying an CX-DX is Better then a EX

well it seem to me that the CX/DX modle is better to buy, because the car doesnt come with a tach, there for its never being rev high. but on the EX with comes witht a Tach therefore the engine could be reving alot.

What? The tach is just a display, it doesn't directly effect rpm.

What the expletive are you talking about?

If you're inferring that because the CX/DX don't have tachs they don't have a redline you're sadly mistaken.

Their redline is LOWER than the EX's.

If that's not what you're asking then I have no idea.

no, ex has vtec, so it allows it to rev higher because of its better efficiency.

I think the OP believes that having a tach causes a greater likelihood of the driver bouncing off the rev limiter more often.

I think the OP needs to realize that not every driver is 16 years old. And 16 year olds will often abuse their engines, whether it has a tach or not.

I destroyed my mom's rear diff when I was 17 by doing a neutral drop with a full load of passengers. Simple physics pwned me, and that beast didn't have a tach.

This is a weird thread. If you don't want to rev, buy a VX. The have obscenely long gears, plus they have tachs, plus they are wired/have VTEC-E. You're all set now!

Most people will buy a Cx/DX for their lighter weights, I have a DX & wish that I had a higher trim for the sunroof & power options.

Thinking that just because the CX/DX don't have tachs = people won't rev as high is a little de da dee IMO. People will drive anyway they want to sans tach or not.

if you get a cx/dx then you dont have the options of power...but if you get a ex then you get the choice of power

Horrible misconception. Most people will tend to drive more normally without a tach because the engine gets loud way before redline.

Actually it just has to do with the way the engine's assembled.

VTEC doesn't give you a higher redline, sorry .

The components used i.e. cam, springs, retainers, ecu etc will dictate the redline not whether it is vtec or not.
