Buying a 96 Hatchback
Hey guys, I'm buyin a '96 DX Hatch for 5000$ and it's going to be my project car. I have a full 6-bay garage that's only 4 months old and all the tools I need.
I want to achieve a low 13 with street tires keeping it all motor. Does anyone have a proven formula to get me there ? I need to start my shopping list and buget. Any help would be appreciated.
this is what i have on my list so far..
B18C
iceman intake
70mm throttle body
itr intake ported
P&P head job w/ 3-angle
ss valves
valvtrain
skunk2 stage 2's
330 cc injectors
B&M FPR kit
ctr pistons/rings
CM stage 3 or 4
chromoly flywheel
ultralight pulleys
moroso oil pan
4-1 2.5"
custom 2.5" exhaust with titanium muffler
straight pipe
aem ems
itr 5 lug swap
skunk2 coilovers
tokico illumina 5-way
strut bars, lower tie bar, chassis x-brace
short shift kit
... this is just off the top of my head and I ran out of time to finish the list.
btw: i did search and didn't find what I was looking for (throws flame suit on)

Daily driver. Domestic eater. 12's would be nice.. but seems far fetched without boost.
An older buddy of mine has a 4.6L GT with a 3.8 gear, short shift, cold air, custom exhaust and 50 shot of nos. He "says" he pulls a mid 12.. I don't buy it. He does nothing but knock imports. I would like to let him see my tail-lights one-day without boost and really make him eat his words.

Re: Buying a 96 Hatchback (Escobar)
For some reason, I have a feeling I'll need to stroke the motor or build a cr/ls/vtec to get there. I'm hoping I won't need to as all these parts are already costing me a ton.
I'm going to get 16" gunmetal itr rims for that setup... but I really want the advan 16" rims in bronze with neova tires.

Re: Buying a 96 Hatchback (Fowler)
i know alot of people on here are against it but h22 with a few decent mods will easily put you in the 13's. do enough and you can be in the 12's without boost easily
