Default Buy the b18b or the b20b?

Okay I'm ready to swap but i don't know where to go here.

I've found a deal for 1300 that's a 70K full LS b18b swap with LS tranny

also found a 37k b20b with GSR tranny (67k on tranny), full swap for 1500.

the B20B is not legal in CALI but.... i know people that can help me with that

the b18b has the long *** LS tranny and more engine miles

this is for a 93 DX coupe... my goal is high 13's on street tires. which is a better platform to start with? Boost is defiantly an option, this is however my daily driver and i drive about 50 miles a day btw.

I'd like to have your opinions.

yes i searched for hours and read a **** load, don't post replys unless you have something helpful to say!

if they both are full swaps and you say you have hook-ups in cali, then b20. i read some threads that say you cannot get BAR with a b20 tho.

yes it's illegal in cali, i know someone that will help me pass smog for a little cash...

anyone have a clue what a b20b w/ gsr tranny with i/h/e would pull on the 1320 in my car (93 DX coupe)

just wondering. what do you guys know about the fuel economy of that engine/tranny combo?

any one know how much more the b20b weighs in at vs the b18b?

Well my b18b dx hatch on street tires gave me a 15.0 with i/h/e and clutch. with slicks and 1.9 60ft i got 14.7 and an occassional 14.6. Make sure you get the LS IM for the 20b. With the GSR tranny you'd be quicker and more torque of the b20 hi 14's with bolt ons and a decent launch for sure.

sounds pretty sweet.

i'm pretty sure that the b20 already has the LS IM because it was already in a civic. it's a full swap out of a civic so yeah... must have the LS IM already!

id say go with the b20 if you can work around the cali restrictions. for the couple hundred more, you have a 2.0 plus low mileage and a gsr tranny. i had a b18b in my dx before and i hit a 15.1@ 91mph full interior with i/h/e.

thats ******* sweet, even if it is with a striped interior (which i'll never do)

so 14's.... nice maybe i'll just throw some higher comp pistons in and do some head work to call it quits after the normal I/H/E.

I'd be satisfied with a high 13's (on street tires) daily if i could maintain reliability... fast enough for a street civic.

seems like 2.0 is the way to go.

can anyone answer my question about the weight differences for the b20b? how much heaver is it?

you do realize they upped the smog standard since july 13th in nor cal, right? 15% randomized picking to smog at test-only stations.
