Burnt wires under hood... what are they?
So, I let my 96 Civic sit for too long and now it won't start. Looked under the hood and also noticed wires that are totally "cut" by way of burning it appears.
What are these, and could it explain why the car doesn't start? I was going to try a spark plug tester and maybe install a new fuel pump next. Thank you.

That is Connector C209.
- Wht wire is power (+) for A/C condenser fan
- Red wire goes to A/C compressor clutch
- Blu/Red wire and Blu/Wht wire goes to A/C pressure switch

Yes exactly those are part of the air conditioner. Would not prevent starting.
Look over all the other wires, mouse damage is common. Don't just buy parts without testing first. One of the first tests to do when it cranks but will not start is to turn the key on but don't crank. Watch for the check engine light to come on then go back out, also listen for the fuel pump to run and then stop.

go to salvage yard and cut that harness at least 8" away from the plug. Strip, solder and cover with heatshrink tubing and you should be good to go.
