Default Burning smell when heater is on?

Hey guys. Finally got my Del Sol registered and I've been driving it for two days. My heater resistor is shot, fan only works on 4, already have that on the way. But there's something else: there's an intermittent smell of like, burning paper, and it also smells vaguely like coolant when the heater is on full blast. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it isn't. It's really intense when it's there and it gets to the point where my eyes burn and I have to roll the windows down.
I've checked under the hood, saw no smoke or anything out of place there, and there's no smoke from under the dash or anything. My only guess is the heater core is leaking onto some wires and shorting them, but no electrics have popped fuses, literally everything works in the car, all lights and everything.
Any suggestions guys? Will a bad resistor block burn maybe, and make this smell?

Are you talking about the resistor that I mentioned, or you mean the whole HVAC control unit? Like I said, that seems to work fine, all the switches and lights work.

Pull the motor, you will probably find a mouse nest in there. That is what caused the resistor to burn out. Mice like to chew through the blower cage wheel as well.

Damn you're probably spot on. The car sat in my yard for like a year and a half, and I had numerous other vehicles out there that all ended up with mice nests under the hood in various places. When I get the resistor in the mail I'll post and say what I find.
