94 civic ex 140k miles, auto.

Lately I have noticed when ever I "floor it" There is a burning type smell. Goes away quick, and only happens when flooring it. I have no muffler right now but it's the stock exhaust.

I like to look over my car often checking fluids and what not. I just noticed when taking the cap off my radiator some of it drained into the overflow, after opening the cap the coolent has a slight brown tent too it. But a drop or so leaked from the hose that drains to the overflow and it was the normal greenish color...

I don't have any cooling problems(I have in the past replaced hoses and a radiator) and my oil level seems the same to me. What could it be?

Stop flooring an auto. You're just wasting gas

The brown is corosion, flush it out.

The burn smell could be oil.

I would much rather floor a manual but sadly the car I bought(when knowing nothing about cars)didn't come with one. Every once in awhile I like to do it. wasting gas or not.

I'll flush it tomorrow.

Oil from getting into the exhaust?
