Burning engine oil B16A2
Hey guys I have a problem with my SI. When I try to turn on the car it takes a few seconds to crank up then finally it turns on, once the car is on it sounds hesitant, also I just did an oil change at a local lube place and two weeks later the engine oil was low again...What is going on?? could it be the Valve seals? or maybe the rings are gone? could the water be mixing with the oil? I notice when I accelerate at High RPM's bluish smoke comes out the exhaust. I would appriciate any help.
Things I tuned on the car...New spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, new fuel filter, and the recent oil change.

Hondas for some reason burn oil, especially in the south. Almost every other honda puffs oil. Why? I have no idea. Nature of the beast I guess. Especiallyl when you get into vtec. You been hitting vtec a lot?

Re: Burning engine oil B16A2
haha yep sounds like you have low compression. Caused by bad cylinder rings which would also explain why your burning oil once you get on it. You could try doing a compression test on your cylinders but it sounds like you need a rebuild...
BTW, how many miles on that motor?

you do know the compression rings and oil control rings are separate things, you can burn oil and still have perfectly good compression.

hmm, I thought maybe since he was having trouble starting it he had low compression as well. Could just be all the oil in the cylinders though...

That'd be more indicative of valve seals, oil seeping into the combustion chamber when the car sits for an extended time. Driven every day you shouldn't notice it unless it's super bad.

Re: Burning engine oil B16A2
what is the milage on the car???
check ur compression and if it low, put a couple drop of oil and see, if the compression raise up.
If it is, the ur ring is bad
