built up b18c
well i pulled the engine outta the car. its a b18c1 in a 99dx. it was burnin lots of oil. so got the head pulled. and there are some prety deep gouges on the #1 cylinder. and some more on #3.
anyway heres what i am doing about it. ive decided to stay all motor for now.
parts ordered
-crower high lift cams. stage 2 street/strip. claim 18-21 hp
-eagle forged rods
-arias forged pistons-all motor/nitrous pistons. ratio is supposed to be about 10.4/1
-greddy head gasket. this should bring the compression up about 3-5 points. hoping for around 10.7/1 final compression ratio. was gonna go higher, but the bigger bore size knmocked down my compression on the pistons.
-full ferrea valve train-dual titanium springs and retainers. all new valves stock size.
-apex V-AFC
-AEM adjustable cam gears
thats about all i can think of right now. the block and head were just sent to the engine guy. block is getting punched .020 over. and the head is getting ported and polished, fluxed etc.
currently the engine has crank pulley, short ram intake, lightened flywheel, 8mm plug wires, zex 50 shot,(will be upgraded to wet kit) full apexi N1 exhaust.
what kind of numbers should i be putting down once the build is complete?? with tuning of course. ill be taling it to calgary alberta for dyno tuning. i was guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of 250hp at the flywheel without nitrous?? am i way off??
anyway thanx in advance for any comments. also please let me know if im missing something. i think i have it prety well covered. but there is always something that slips your mind.
also, what is the stock bore size on a gsr engine?? i thought i read somewhere that it was 83mm. but when ordering pistons, it says that stock bore is 81mm.

I believe the stock bore is 81.00mm for both B16 and B18.
Your numbers to the fly do look slightly high yet I wouldnt really say anything, it might be possible to get around there.
Are those your only questions?
Well good luck man.

Re: built up b18c (preacherboy)
currently there is a dry shot in the car which i assume is the reason for the engine being fucked up right now. so when the new engine goes in the car. the dry kit is comin out. but i will be putting a wet kit in down the road when the bank account allows it.

he was picking on you b/c nitrous is not considered all motor

What about a Skunk 2 intake manifold? Would help out quite a bit. If you're looking for one, IM me, I have one collecting dust in my garage.

Re: built up b18c (WRXblue_EG)

Re: (JDM-Vic)
nice website. but i fail to see how crower sucks. looks more like whoever built or tuned that engine sucks.
looks like the timing was set way off. also it looks like it was not pre oiled.
