Building my own exhaust system.. did i buy everything i need ?
I'm on summis site, so far i bought
2 1/2 in. diameter, 4 ft. long, steel, aluminized finish, exhaust tubing
two of these, 8ft in total just incase if i mess up
Universal, up to 1,500 degrees F, high temperature, black, silicone coating
Universal, 2500 series, OBD II compatible, 2 1/2 in. diameter slip fit inlet and outlet, stainless steel, catalytic converter (going to remove inside for more flow after inspection)
18mm x 1.5 thread, weld-in oxygen sensor fitting (for the seconday)
So.. what do i need to join the piping, can i tig weld it at a shop, should be cheap. I'm just sick of $400 exhaust. I would rather have something ok, but have the fun of building/designing myself. This should be a awesome diy/project

Re: ([label]kenshin)
i would not hollow the cat out b/c it will not be a smooth flow
spot weld a pipe throught the middle for a smoothe flow
are you gonna put a muffler on there?

Re: (jaxle)
it's been done before, just run the pipe from the header, under the the gas tank and in beetween the two lca supports. A couple members on here have had it done, and my friend said hes gonna weld it. It should be a lot better now that i think about it flow wise, i'm not gonna run a cat, etc, just pipe and a spoon n1.

4 ft. per pipe? 2 1/2 diameter? I'd go no more than 2 1/4.

Not trying to steal your thread, but I need some help too. however you guys sound more complicated then Im looking for. I bought a bolt on cat back and headers. I have a post out trying to get some more infor about it. Do you guys know If i should keep my oem cat? Do I need to worry about the secondary o2 sensor or anything? I have been digging through h-t looking for answers. This is my first time switching out an exhaust myself. I appreciate any help at all alot!!!

Minimal!
I'm running 2.5" piping under the gas tank, and once I'm dropped, it should be close to the ground, def. gotta be careful.
