Default Budget b20/vtec build

I'm new to the entire hybrid build stuff. Given the expansive amount of knowledge out there that I can't tap into because H-T wont let me search "LS AND vtec" and nothing great comes up for "b20 AND vtec"... I seek opinions and any make-sure-to's that you have to advise me on.

Recently spun a bearing in my GSR block and swapping in a b20. I don't plan on taking it past 250whp as I'm going all motor and can't afford to beef up the block. I am worried however, about the cylinder walls and revving at higher rpms. Is there anything you guys recommend that I add that will give beneficial security? I've been told to get ARP rod bolts, and use the GSR oil/water pumps. I looked into a block guard but I dont know if I'll really need it. I do plan to build the head in the future, but would like to keep the stock sleeves because I cant afford to send it off, or put forged parts in. This kind of came up out of no where and has to be a quick fix because its my daily driver.

Please feed me your .02! Thanks guys

p.s. I'm not doing it myself!

On a scale of 1 to 10 how important are rod bolts if I plan to keep the rest of the block stock and just build the head? It will cost me another hour or two in labor

sleeves should be ok just no boost...head studs and the oil and water pumps are pretty much what you can do without opening the block and still keep it safe. I wouldnt be taking it to 9500 or anything but you should be good

the b20 was not made to go high rpms you definately need rod bolts at least if you plan on reving past 7500

I'm doing the b20vtec with the ARP bolts, and GSR water pump. Is it necessary to do the oil pump? Thoughts?

parts on the way:

Hytech style Tri-Y Header
Golden Eagle Vtec Dowel Pins
Cometic Head gasket
Greddy Sandwich Plate
Greddy Oil Line and fittings
ARP Head studs
ARP rod bolts
B18C Timing Belt
GSR Water Pump

the stock rod bolts are weak.. they're one of the first thing that will let go.. so i'd spend the $40 or whatever on some arp rod bolts..

any b series oil pump will work.. just get an obd2 pump..
a girdle is for higher hp and higher revving..
not that it wont help any..

how bad is that gsr block? wanna sell it?
