Default Buddy Club short shifter??

I'm looking into buying the Buddy Club short Shifter for my 97EK from jhpusa.com for $98.

Now I need to do my research on it, has anyone used it personally in there car?

What are your oppinions on it, how much shorter does it sit physically?

And the gear throws?

Here is a pic (Thanks to JHP.com)

What's the difference between that one and one that you can buy off ebay for under $20 shipped?

I had a Tenzo one. Not only did it grind 3rd and 5th gears, it broke as well.

I beg to differ sir.... YOU ground the gears, not the shifter. Without your aid it is physically impossible for a shifter to grind the gears.... not to mention that it has no direct contact with the gears...also the actual design between cheapos and good ones doesnt differ enough to make a huge difference besides quality of bearings and materials....

and to the other guy....prove that its not good for your tranny....as long as you arent bangin through your gears you are fine

blody hell, do NOT spend that much on a SHIFTER. get one off ebay for 20 bucks. its made of 6061 aluminum, will last forever, no one sees it so who cares if its anodized blue. i got one, had it for 2 years, strong as anything. do NOT pay that much for a stick man.
sides, some guy had one of the super expensive DC ones and it BROKE.
i got a cheap ol ebay one and it didnt.
get a cheap one for 15 bucks. if your paranoid, get a steel one.

Amen brother. I bought one off ebay for 15 bucks too and it does the job just as well as the name brand ones. I think this is the only category of mods where the phrase "you get what you pay for" does not necessarily apply.

not really, cheap shifters do tend to break faster
that is the only drawback

i would have to agree too. even though i have owned the regular C's short shifters and now use the C's Driving Position. only because i can afford the higher end short shifters, and felt comfortable with it in the past.

its just a shifter in the long run. get what you can afford.

B&M makes a quality piece that has yet to be broken...(all of my friends et. al. use them and not a single one has broken in 4+ years...not to mention the throw is GREAT).

B&M

I have an ANODIZED BLUE short shifter from Hurst. Its a red car, i dont give a ****.. I got it for 15 dollars used from a guy i know. it works great. im using it with a skunk2 ****, wont ever go stock again. (the weight of the skunk2 **** makes it so great, i used to have a shitty ichibahn shifter and once i switched it has been great)

I've had my cheapo $20 ebay shifter for a little over half a year and compared to stock it's worth my $20 and until it breaks on me i'll support it through and through

the JDM itr is the same as the US itr. but either way.. its NIIIIIIIICE from what i read, the itr shifter/shifting is modeled after the NSX.

Higher quality shifters like the Skunk2 have ***** you can buy that are designed to counterbalance it perfectly. I've got the Dual-Bend Skunk2 with the matching ****, which has been weighted for more positive shifting. I love it, and would never go lower quality by comparison. Just my .02. By the way, I also had a cheapo eBay before hand.

if your breaking shifters then you realy need to take the time to learn how to shift.once your trans is in gear there is no reson to keep pushing or pulling and thats the only way your going to break your shifter.
