Re: Buddy Club Exhaust (beeboyee)
mine is over axle.....
loud depends on what your used to......i came from a non resonated 2.5" strait pipe without a cat. spec II with carsound cat was actually quiet to me add in that i wanted a lightweight system, and this exhaust was perfect for my application(driven only a couple times a week, and on track)
with silencer, its very bearable in my opinion. never been pulled over because of it, although i drive the car very tame on the street. On the track is something else entirely overall, im a happy customer
hope that helps you a bit.......

Re: Buddy Club Exhaust (WhiteHonda)
I just installed one on a B18C1 EG last night... I had a cat, but had to use a test-pipe becuase the SpecII is longer than a regular hatchback exhaust and it was easier to fix the tp than the cat.
Anyway... I took it out for about 20 minutes and if my ears had started bleeding I wouldn't have been surprised. It's loud. Very loud. I'm going to run it tonight with the silencer in to see what's up.
Keep in mind that this is just a pipe with a resonator in it... no muffler at all. It's a very nicely made piece though, and very light. BTW, mine is over the axle... the whole reason I was buying a new exhaust was to clear my Comptech Swaybar/Tiebar combo, which this does with plenty of room to spare.
I remember riding behind Johnny Tran's car one night thinking "that's the loudest damn car I've ever heard"... Well, a friend told me AFTER I'd ordered the SpecII that "that's what Nick has"... "Oh ****... " was my only thought.

Re: Buddy Club Exhaust (Johnny Tran)
Yea, to clarify for everyone, my car was built to take to track events. The only reason I'm driving it now is just to get a feel for the car and put a few miles on it before the track.
I guess it's all about taste, but when David (R&D) told me "resonator, no muffler", I knew what I was getting into and would never have put this on a car that had to be daily driven.

i concurr......like i said, im in the same boat as jeff (not daily driven, track *****, not payed for ) if your into that, and occasional street driving, its not a horrible choice in my opinion.

I've never heard the Spec II but as Johny Tran and Jeff said for "daily driving" I think it's a little "too" loud. You will attract attention/Ricers will want to race yoo and COPS will break *****. If you want a "streetable" good performer and light weight get the Buddy Club Spec III. It actually has a muffler.. hehe.. Oh yeah, check the ITR forum for Spec III owners. I think Pat (ITR009) not sure, has the Spec III on his ITR

Re: Buddy Club Exhaust (00MRSi)
I saw a blue si at VIR with buddy club exhaust and he was in front of me around oaktree and i heard some loud(really loud) car and looked in my rear view thinking something was coming on my *** quick and it ended up being that Blue SI but from what someone told me he didnt have a cat so i thought maybe that was all the difference in the world... guess not. The SPEC III is like 600 bucks... the $450 price tag was really appealing. WHat does the silencer do for it? Any better... i have to drive it daily but i can put up with alot...i think...

Anyway, I put the silencer in tonight and went for a ride. I'd say it makes a considerable difference. I was trying to be quiet with it, and it's really not possible leaving a stoplight. 1st and 2nd start to get loud before you need to shift. Once you get past that, you can keep the revs low and it's not that bad. If you need to accelerate though, you need to pick your gears wisely.

Re: Buddy Club Exhaust (WhiteHonda)
you are saying the spec I and II's are loud.... but do they make that annoying ricer fart noise?? also i have a del sol so i cannot get the spec III they dont make on for it.. unless another model car will fit the del sol.. but i am definatly gettin as much buddyclub stuff as i can.. ive got BC wheels.. and i want the BC suspension.. but thats later on down the road.. anyways my main worry is the specI which is what i want has that nasty rice(wet fart) sound

How big of a difference did the cat make?

Re: Buddy Club Exhaust (Johnny Tran)
Just look at the pics. Spec I and II are gonna be LOUD as ****. They basically have no muffler, "straight pipe"-like exhaust. The new Spec III won't be nearly as loud as Spec I and II. It has a muffler and probably as loud as Tanabe Racing Medalion and Type One, ball park guess. I never use the silencer. I understand silencers are to quiet the exhaust down, put IMO they defeat the whole purpose of the exhaust system. It is a huge restriction. For street use the Spec I and II I think is a bit much. Oh yeah, Buddy Club and "Ricey" can't be used in the same sentence. Get the Buddy Club Spec III!! If I didn't already have my APEXi N1, I'd have either the Spec III or Type One system..

Just bustin your ***** bro. I don't think it will sound farty and ricey. It will probably sound "evil" scream like a bike with aftermarket pipe. I think with a cat, the sound will be "smoother" and "cleaner" and definitely quiter. As Johnny Tran said, not as "raspy"...
