Default brooken exhaust bolt

Hey guys, i was just taking my old rusty exhaust off and putting on my new one. I had everything i needed, new hangers, gaskets, anti-sieze lube, i mean a real quality job !
So i doused the two bolts connecting the axle section and mid section. I tried and tried to get them off. Finally, i got one off, took it nice and slow, so it wouldnt break. I moved on to the next one, and did the same thing but *snap*, broke that bia off. Now ive got the little threaded part of the bolt and the very tip thats unthreaded still in the bolt thats on the mid-pipe flange. Now, ive only got my new axle section now, so i have to get that little piece of broken bolt out so I can get this on.

Any ideas on how to get it out? I tried pliers to grab it and unscrew it, but it wouldnt grasp.

Any ideas?

that happened to me before. you need to get a drill and drill out that piece of metal. than either rethread it or bolt it with a long screw and nut.

hey, good idea with the longer screw and nut, but if i do drill out the existing one, how easily can it be re-threaded??

Yeah, I just drilled that biznatch out and got a longer bolt and nut.
Those new hangers were a pain to get on, but in the end, it was worth it. Heh, the guy at the auto-parts store said that the anti-seize stuff wont come off your hands... looks like he was right... lol guess i gotta use more of that liquid pumice.

That tuner/baffle thing works too, with it in, its pretty quiet, with it out, deep, kinda loud... kinda like when i had a hole in my old rusty muffler, but it doesnt have that rasp when i hit no-tec.

anyways, i'm loving the new exhaust, great DIY project... now on to bigger and better thigs!
