Default broken regulator in window

as topic states, my regulator in my drivers door is shot, my window goes up and stops about an inch and a half from the top, went to the local honda dealership and they are charging 398 and some change for the part and labor!!!!!, this sounds like b.s. to me, i have tried gaining access to the regulator, but the space is very limited to work with,, anyone with ideas on where to go for cheaper or how to fix as a diy????TIA

i have the same problem...except when my window hits the top it shifts over about a quarter of an inch, exposing an open area of the window. I went to the dealership and they told me that BS for 350 for the regulator and install...**** it...i have learned to live with it and just push the window into place every time i put it up...

now onto your situation...start by taking the door panel off and running the window up and down...the regulator is the metal x-shaped thing that the window sits on...it should be an expanding and contracting X...with the bars at the top and bottom staying completely horizontal. If the bar at the top (the one that the window is slotted in) isnt staying horizontal, then it is your regulator. You can find a new regulator on ebay or from hondaautomotiveparts.com and with some time, you should be able to figure it out. However, you will need to glue the window to the new regulator. I'm not an expert at doing this, so hopefully someone who has done it before can help.

Now, if the regulator is staying completely horizontal, then it is the run channel (the black stripping around the window that the glass slots into when sliding up and down.) This is also several hundred dollars from the dealership, so i would suggest buying one off ebay or from hondaautomotiveparts.com and installing it yourself.

Or, you could be lazy like me and just push the window into place every time you run it up. It becomes annoying and monotonous after a while, but it beats paying honDUH 400 bucks to make it a tad better...
