Default Broken Differential

I purchased a 95 gsr transmission like a month ago from some jerk claiming it was fully functional with no grinds and no problems. I didnt inspect it like an idiot, I just spun shaft and thought everything was ok. Now, I was getting ready to swap it in my car already mounted to my block and my friend noticed a problem with the differential. I think its broken and who knows what else (cant trust no one anymore ) . If you were to look at it through the axle slots, it looks aligned from the drivers side but not aligned from the passenger side (looks off a bit). What else should I expect broken in this tranny? My friends dad is a transmission specialist and told me he would work on it with me, but I just wanted a heads up on what to expect.

He's going to look at next weekend, but I was curious to know what goes when a differential is busted. If you have an idea, let me know
