Broken axles. Any Ideas???

Broken axles. Any Ideas???
After swap (B18b) into my car (96 cx hatch) I've managed to break 2 axles (once out of the wheel and once out of the transmission). Both times were on the same side (passenger side/ transmission side). I wont lie. I drove a lil hard a couple times. But nothing TOO crazy. Do i need to get special axles. I've been putting the stock integra axles.

Do you try and launch your car on the street? If you do, do you have wheel hop? That can cause axles to snap easily. With a stock motor you shouldn't be breaking axles unless it is driver error.

What exactly is breaking? Are they snapping? If so where exactly? Are the splines breaking off? Are the just popping out? Could you be a little more specific about how they're breaking? They shouldn't be breaking no matter how hard your driving with a stock B18B swap.

This might sound kinda dumb, but are you 100% sure when you're pushing the axle into the transmission that you do it all the way until that snap ring enters whatever groove holds it in place? It can be very tough sometimes, even seeming like they're all the way in when they're not. Just something to double check... otherwise I think something is wrong with your tranny to be kicking out axles like that.
Also you said it did it at the wheel too... did you mean the axle is slipping out there as well? Because I didn't think that was possible with that 32mm nut on it........

This might sound really dumb but my half-*** mechanics didn't put the mount on the front of the transmission. So not only did the axle slip out but the mount on the top of the transmission cracked at the bolt causing the engine to drop a few inches on the right side. Would the fact that i was missing this mount cause the axle slippage?

I don't know for sure that would cause that to happen (but it probably did), but I DEFINITELY wouldn't rule it out and that never should've happened in the first place. I would find a new mechanic.
Fix all those mounts and try again and let us know!

I already moved on. Took a while because he was really cheap....now i know why. Anyone know the name for that mount that goes on the front of the transmission? I need one but don't know the name.

San Leandro Honda (slhondaparts.com) calls it BRACKET, R. FR. STOPPER, but I think it's more generally the front lower transmission mount.

Re: Broken axles. Any Ideas??? (lechuza05)
Anyone else know where i can get the mount (front of transmission) for a GSR transmission (swapped into my 96 cx). I figure the missing mount causes my frequent axle slippage. Also wanted to know if these would fit my car http://passwordjdm.com/Innovat....aspx . The other link stopped half way through the site. Thank you still.
