Broke Oil Pressure Switch

Broke Oil Pressure Switch
1998 Civic EX - D16Y8
Tore down the engine for the second time in 15 months (my own fault). This time when I was removing the lower nut that holds the intake manifold onto the head, I snapped off the electrical connector that I'm pretty sure is for the Oil Pressure Switch on the back of the block... to the right of the Knock Sensor and a little above the coolant drain plug.
Has anyone else done this? How bad am I hosed and how big a job am I looking at to replace that connector..? Can I just cut one off a junkyard car and solder it on?
Thanks,
Curtis

Re: Broke Oil Pressure Switch
The one with the blue plug? Because THAT is the knock sensor. The one directly above the oil filter is the oil pressure sensor.
Both those sensors screw in. So you are not hosed, but the knock sensor is expensive. I have actually broken the plastic off the knock sensor before, ordered a used one and had it mysteriously break in shipping (it was super glued together). I grabbed a used one off a junked motor and have no problems since. New ones are in the $120 price range at least the last time I looked.

But the oil pressure switch has a big rubber boot over it so once I cut all that off I could see that it was only the switch and not the connector itself that I broke. The switch was a $9 part lol and the connector was unharmed.
But yeah I couldn't believe how little force it took to break that knock sensor!
Thanks for the response;
Curtis
