broke manifold stud, need advise please..
ok so a while ago i put a new exhaust manifold on the car (93 civic b16a) and i broke 2 studs, their still sticking out from the block just not enough to pass the manifold, can these be screwed out or would i have too re-tap them?

so ur saying the two studs are sticking out right. get some vise grips and take them out and put new ones in. if u cant grap it wit the vise grips then gota drill and tap

The exhaust manifold studs breaking is pretty common. If the vise grips do not work, a cam style stud remover is definitely worth a try. This tool worked like a charm when a couple of these studs broke on my 91 Civic a few years ago. Its studs required the 8 mm stud remover. See

Autozone or NAPA may have these, too. I was able to buy mine individually for around $15 on Ebay a few years ago.
Harbor Freight has a cheap (under $5) stud remover tool that may work fine too.
