This is my GSR tranny. Happened at the track. How bad is this? Can this tranny see the track again. Doesnt seem to be leaking :fingers crossed:

damn it looks pretty chipped off!

you might be able to drive it around, but definitely not on the track just to be on the safe side. weld it back on?

you can take it off and take it to machince shop or weld shop or whatever. and have them weld the hole shut, drilled and retapped. But it has to be a good welder.

well that is where the tranny mounts to the block,

its not going to leak because there is nothing in there to leak out.

theres just the clutch in there and clutch fork.

have to wonder how the ****??

how about ya tell us meeyybe?? hehe

I think it was overtoqued, prolly with an impact or something or other bolts were too loose and after alot of launches it finally decided to break.

yeah I would check for the damage on the block too, and I would get the tranny welded and retapped asap because you could break everything else on it. You could also look for GSR tranny bellhousing, I don't know if all b series belhousings are the same.

well I'm not sure, I know that bolt goes thru either mount to the tranny or thru the block to tranny or maybe thru both. Well the other side of bolt had to come out somewhere so I would check fo it.

that bolt itself goes through the bracket and to the tranny.

Here is mine, YOU CANT repair it, you must get a b-series bellhousing casing, than transfer all your gears to that casing and reseal it. I had a machine shop do mine.

Mine broke, because the bolts were stripped, so they werent never really tighten down, than my rear mount broke.

good luck man, i feel for you

oh yeah your rear mount might be shot as well as your L mounts. I think it caused your shifter bushing to slip out along with braking your tranny.

Theres 3...two for the trans, one for the motor

Dude that bellhousing is done, my slave cylinder bolt hole was cracked so I jbwelded a stud in there and it works fine, but that is not something you want to jb weld. Get a new bellhousing or new trans altogether if you wanna keep racing...

you guys give up too easy. You can fix that with some aluminum scrap, a drill, a tap and die set, and someone who knows how to weld aluminum

it is important that when you weld on it you keep as little heat as possible, because it can warp very easily

mine was WORSE and i fixed it , after constant thrashin at 12psi my tranny went out (motor went out soon after ). All 3 bolts were stripped and the back 2 chucks snapped off first it was a crack then eventually a chunk came out i paid 100 bucks to get this tranny and another welded. all i had to do was shave it down flat tap it and i was back on the road.
