Default break question searched

I'm relativly new to H-T and to tuning so I need some help regarding my break setup. The question I have is........with my stock calipers and rotors up front with AEM pads and shoes in back and good fluid on my 98 civ ex. Would I notice any change for the better by simply swaping the MC and proportioning valve off a si or gsr -vs- a full rear disc setup and front upgrade to gsr or si? I know some people will say full swap hands down but approaching it in more simple way(budget reasons) would definatly work better for me now. I just want to know if it would change anything.
