BRAKES WENT OUT
I was driving my 99 DX today (w/ jdm h22 swap) and all of a sudden the brakes stoped working normally, i litterally had the push down the brake pedal as hard as i could to stop the car. Any ideas?

Re: BRAKES WENT OUT (Jimmy)
hmmm im not sure how to provide details. I was flooring it in first gear, slowed down and felt that my brakes were not responding. I added fluid and pumped the brakes to see and feel any change, but nothing changed. I feel a lot of resistance, as if the brakes dont pedal doesnt want to move.

There's probally a **** ton of air in there now.. Did your squeelers wear down? Hear any grinding noises before? See any visual leaks? check your front and rear brake lines.

That's where my money is . The booster is just that .......it reduces the amount of work you have to do to push the brake pedal. when they stop working your brake pedal gets hard to push.

air in the lines doesn't result in the pedal being hard to press. it results in the opposite...
1. grinding feeling? pads are gone.
2. soft pedal? air in line, leaking caliper or line.
3. pushing hard, but not much braking? booster bad.
4. push and hold, pedal slowly sinks? master cylinder bad.

Its #3 for sure then... Thanks for the tips guys. But does this mean i have to buy a new booster? If so, where can i pick it up for a decent price? Autozone, pepboys, etc?

The GSR brake booster wont work unless if you have an integra master cylinder. I had someone bring me there car with this problem and it turned out to be the check valve was reversed. Did you ever have good brake pedal or was it always like this?

Yes it was actually fine while i was driving home and then i floored it for about 1/8 mile and then the brakes got super super stiff and the car wouldnt stop unless i pushed down the brake pedal as hard as i could.

Sure but the 99-00 SI brake booster is the same size as the DX booster.
