Brakes or struts?
Ok, I am planning on swapping my engine within the next year. Right now, I am running stock brakes and struts. I have GC coil overs. My question is this. Do i go for a big brake upgrade, or do i go for the whole shebang and get the entire kit and get calipers too? Also, should i worry about that or struts first? I have factory struts on my car right now. What is the better investment first? I am trying to prepare myself now. I want to do this right.

For the size and weight of a Civic, stock brake sizes are adequate. Invest in a set of good quality pad and you'll be fine. Stock shocks on the other hand are trash. Dump 'em, now.

personally I would go for the struts and then the big brakes. Stock shocks with a drop tend to get bouncy and 'it ain't cool.'

..and you can always put integra brakes on your car....find a junked one and buy the suspension off of it. My car came equipped with that setup when I bought it

Ok, well i guess my next investment will be a set of AGX's or Illumas. Any suggestions? I will probably upgrade my brakes later perhaps after the swap if they seem bad. I will however probably get a set of better pads. Perhaps some that dont produce so dang much brake dust. Anyone here like EBC's or AEM's?

If you are set on larger brakes, get them after the engine swap. Just use some good pads for now. I usually use HAWKs. I've never used EBC or AEM.

Re: Brakes or struts? (SLPR)
I'd like koni yellows, but they are a bit pricey and im not going for extreme handling here....just enough to get me by when needed . So why AGX over Illumas? I thought Tokico was right up there tho...hrmm

Go with shocks and struts first and foremost because your stocks are probably taking a kunta kinte beating with the GC coils. You can still stop with stock brakes after a swap.

I will also get the KYB AGX since it's the best bang for the buck. Or Bilstein if I just want dampers instead of real coilovers.
Brakes wise. Depends on what engine u gonna swap in, and how u gonna drive ur car. For more info u can PM me or email me at spoonek4@hotmail.com
