Default brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!

i plan to put rear discs on my 94 civic coupe. i have the rear disc set up from a 95 integra. the only thing i think i might have a problem with is the proportioning valve since drum brakes require less pressure than discs. can i get an adjustable pressure proportioning valve or is it cool to run the rear discs with the same pressure. Any adive is much appretiated.

You can do the swap and keep your valve but your braking will be shitty because the stock valve isn't giving enough pressure to the new pistons. You should get a 40/40 proportioning valve from an Si (because it came with 4 wheel discs)

For more details do a search, this is covered way too often. It's all there.

i could probably get a proportioning valve through work for and si but i dont know how good out import connections are around here. i could check the junk yard but i highly doubt that they will have anything from an si (junkyards around milwaukee are way over picked) ill see what i can find. thanks a lot for the advice.

i have a 98 hatch and already went through this and if i learned one thing, its that about 80% of people on this site give the worst ****** advice ever. they love saying stuff just because they heard it elsewhele without actually being able to back it with personal experience. so heres my bit of advice...being that i have a 98 hatch, and had 48 people tell me i need a 99-00 si proportioning valve, i actually believed all the assmunches..in all reality, the 96-00 hatches came with the same exact valve that the 99-00 Si came with, so if you have a problem finding that one, maybe you'll have better luck finding one off a 96-00 hatch. hope that helps...and for all you unknowledgeble bastards that are about to flame me on this...go to a honda dealership first...ask them for part numbers, then try and flame me.

ohh and another thing is...the real braking upgrade is in the front brakes, not the rears, so get some integra fronts if thats what you want...and as far as accessories like valves are concearned, the master cylinder and booster is where its at, get a bigger one and you will feel a nice differance, guaranteed. good luck.

yea i know that the braking is mostly in the front but drums in the back look retarded through my wheels and discs in the back is better then drums even if it is just a little bit. i was planning on a big brake set up for the front anyways that way i can stop on a dime. thanks a lot for the advice it wont se wasted.

if you are considering a big brake setup...compare the prices with getting a type r 5 lug setup...if the price is similar go with the type r brakes all around, you have no idea how happy you will be. the braking is retarded! good luck anyways.

I have front and rear GSR's with GSR prop valve, brake booster, MC on my 92 Civic. It helps alot.

I wouldn't get a big brake upgrade kit unless it fits under 15" wheels. The 5 lug is good, but I think I would rather buy good rotors, pads, and lines for the GSR's then stepup to a 5 lug.
