Default Braker boosters (yea I searched)

I know this is asked alot but I have to ask too.

Hey I'm getting 99-00 Si rear disc's for my 92-eg. I got the right 4040 proportional coming.

What I need now is a brake booster and master cylinder.
I read ALOT of the guides but most are for 96 and up.

What I would like to know is if a 00 si brake booster and cylinder will drop right in with no modification.

I can't find a 94 si booster/cylinder thats why I am asking. Thanks guys.

cycopath, since you are only upgrading your rear drum brakes to rear disc brakes (from 99-00 civic si), it is not necessary to upgrade your stock 13/16 master cylinder unless you have upgraded your front brakes to a larger 10.3" or 11" set-up. When you go to bigger caliper than use a larger piston, you are pushing more fluid through the brake lines. Therefore, you should want a larger master cylinder to push this more fluid. General rule is…with your stock civic, with the stock front calipers & 9.4" rotor, keep your 13/16” MC. Any bigger and your pedal will be too stiff.

if you decide to go with bigger calipers for 92-95 civic, keep your brake booster & upgrade your master cylinder to one from a 1991 Honda Civic EX 4-door master cylinder (it bolts right up to your civic booster). The part number from Honda is 46100-SH4-A11

How big is the risk of not changing it to the right proportional valve. I WILL be changing the master cylinder, but my intake manifold pretty much touches the fire wall. So It's almost impossible to remove without taking the engine out. I Might be able to get to the valve from underneath, but what is the risk of not changing it?

why are you changing your master cylinder? do you have 94-00 integra front brakes (17cl14vn calipers w/ 10.3" rotors)? unless you have swapped out your knuckles or have a bigger brakes system, your 92 civic has DX knuckles which come standard with civic calipers on 9.4" front rotors & works best with 13/16" master cylinder. the DX knuckles w/ 9.4" front rotors can be found on 88-00 civics. as i stated in my previous post:

keep in mind, since you are ONLY upgrading your rear discs...it is not necessary to mod your m/c. use the appropriate master cylinder...big master cylinders (such as the 15/16" or 1" m/c) are meant for big front brakes (10.3" or 11" front rotor) & 13/16" for stock civic calipers (9.4" front rotors). *** for example, on a 92-95 civic/del sol si, it has a 13/16 master cylinder, civic calipers w/ 9.4" front rotors and rear disc brakes on a disc proportioner.

...drum proportioner can be used w/ your rear disc brakes, it is not a sin if you use it since most of your brakes system's braking power is handled by the front brakes. i used a drum prop on my rear disc conversion for over a year until i finally swapped out to a disc brake prop...it worked fine on the drum prop

you don't have to remove your engine to service your m/c or valve prop...but i know what you mean, it's tight in there. i recommend flare wrenches if you plan on working on the hardlines so you do not strip the fittings w/ a regular wrench. the brake lines in your engine bay must be handled with care since they bend and crack very easily. keep in mind that brake fluid will eat the paint on your firewall (or anything else it touches, like your fenders, etc), so keep plenty of rags available.

imo, swap out your drums for disc brakes...worry about the prop later. leave the 13/16" m/c in there since you're using civic calipers (w/ 9.4" front rotors).

best bang for the buck, spend your hard-earned cash on a nice set of brake pads, blank rotors (from parts supply store) & ss lines

Ok, thanks for all the info man, appreciate it. But, the reason it's almost impossible to change the pro valve is becasue I have a H22 in eg with skunk2 intake mani. It litteratly wedges the valve agaisnt the firewall : PIC>>>

Also, I'm looking at SS lines. Should I get the ones for a 92-95 civic with rear discs. Because, according to the chart, the 92-95 has the same rear disc setup at a 99-00 si if I'm not mistaken and reading it correctly?

the drum brake lines won't work. you can source lines from any 90-01 integra (or civic with rear disc; ie. 92-95 civic si, 92-97 del sol si/vtec, 99-00 civic si) will be the correct length for your rear disc conversion.
