Brake Torque... how often, how dangerous?
Well due to things in the past I had no control over, my Civic is auto. Anways when I get out on my own I can look forward to a 5 ( or 6 ) speed car. But bumbling around with my friends on some country roads I was wondering how dangerous brake torques were. I would do maybe one brake torque a week. I just want to know how dangerous this is to an automatic tranny cause if its dangerous, im not going to do it. ALSO what is a safe and effective RPM to do it at?
Thanks for the help

Re: Brake Torque... how often, how dangerous? (Si Arn)
it's just as hard on a transmission as launching with a manual... but auto trannies are not made for that purpose.. for me personally I wouldn't do it to my own car.. but when I rented a maxima for 2 weeks thats all I did.. haha that bad *** car moves not bad for a low 15sec sedan oh yeah if u do want to do it just hold the brake.. rev it up to 2000 or 2500 and let it rip
