Default Brake shake problem? Bad caliper maybe? *ADVICE NEEDED FROM XP*

I just got done with my civic to integra front brake swap and upgraded to a 88-91 civic sedan EX 15/16 brake master cylinder. Everything was good untill the brake upgrade (no brake shake).

I have a bad brake shake when going 40mph+ over. At first, I was having a clattering problem (when going through some bumps or ups & downs hearing clattering noises) & brake shaking problem on the front . So I changed my rotor, thinking it was warped. NOPE, didn't fix it... that wasn't the problem.

So I later inspected the front upper control arm which is the fork that holds the camber kit to the knuckle and found out that the upper ball joint "lifted" itself out of place just a little bit. I swap the bad integra's upper control arm in exchanged with my civic's. Clattering problem FIXED and now the brake shake isn't as bad but is still THERE.

The brake shake is still there when braking @ higher speeds. My acceleration has also slowed going from 0-40mph and the clutch engagement from 1st gear is off too (when compared to my stock DXs, it feels like there's something holding it back) and the steering also feels unnatural.. it seems easy to steer to the left but the right its a bit harder and I have power steering still. I was wondering if it's the calipers and maybe that my bad upper control arm from before probably expletiveed up my caliper's position of holding onto the rotor.

Advice from experience is greatly appreciated.

I replaced the right side rotor with a brand new rotor if I haven't mentioned about it before and it's still shaking.

sounds like a warped rotor or bad caliper guides if the setup was used maybe you shouldget new pads and maybe resurface the rotors and replace the guides the should sell the guides for a couple of bucks at a parts store hope you get it fixed

your most likely problem is that you have a warped rotor or bad guides

IF YOU LOOK AT THE CALIPER WHERE THE BOLT SLIDES IN SOME CARS HAVE GUIDES .. IF YOU CALL YOUR PARTS HOUSE AND ASK IF THEY HAVE BRAKE HARDWARE KIT FOR BLA BLA BLA THEY'LL TELL YOU WHAT IT INCLUDES USUALLY BOLTS, RUBBER SLEEVES.. WHEN YOU CHANGED THE ROTOR DID YOU CHANGE THE PADS ALSO? AND IS THERE ANY SIGNS OF LEAKS?? ANOTHER THING MIGHT BE MAYBE YOUR HUB ISN'T CENTERING CORRECTLY MAKING YOUR WHEEL WOBBLY I DUNNO ITS USUALLY ROTOR OR THOSE GUIDE I DONT THINK YOUR CALIPER WOULD BE BAD..

no i didn't change the brake pads & no leaks. so will a bad guide have the potential to cause a shake like this? #19

I've been trying to figure out my brake shaking problem. I'm thinking it's uneven pad deposits. I have a 99 hatch w/ EM1 brakes all the way around, including EM1 master cylinder and prop valve..

I replaced one of the caliper guide pins cuz it was siezed. That helped a little bit. But the shaking went back to the way it was before after a while.

I then had the rotors turned, which made the problem go away only to return 500 miles later. I'm thinking it's the Axxis Ultimate pads i'm using. I'm going to try to run a more abrasive pad to see if the problem goes away.

try replacing your other rotor too.that stuff is good to replaced in pairs.and your guides, probably explains the unusual wear on your new rotor.

the shaking is only coming from the right side ever since i swapped the civics for the integra's brake assembly. so i can only assume that my problem lies there.

thanks for the advice. argg... i just got done taking both of my wheels off and inspecting / comparing each side and re-torquing everything.. calipers onto knuckle / brake pads / other little ***** back to spec. seems fine... it doesn't seem like there's anything wrong at all. I just cant see it. Hmm..

im not getting a jet airplane noise.. just a brake shake @ high mphs 40mph+. dam... i cant seem to find the problem still. its driving me crazy.

possibilities
rotor (brand new)
brake pads (used but its just whatevers i guess)
all bolts and nuts (are tight and torqued to specs)
upper control arm w/ ball joint (changed to a good one)
lower ball joint (kinda messed up but i dont think this is the problem)
steering rack & pinion ball joint (kinda messed up but i dont think this is the problem)

knuckle / hub went bad somehow?
caliper?
wheel bearing?

brake shake? wtf

i just got my car aligned recently and they did mentioned something about having the camber kit maxing out on adjustments. would a improper alignment cause a shake like this @ high mphs? your thoughts and experiences please.
