ok im looking for decent slotted and drilled rotors and good pads, now part stores have no names and i wont buy **** from ebay. now tire rack has brembos for a ok price anyone have other links for this kind of stuff. the brembo rotors are 144 for both and pads are like 108 for both mind u i only need fronts. is that a good price for brembos? and greenstuff pads vs brembos?????? advise please?

Don't get the drilled and slotted rotors. I have the brembos on my car now and they are terrible. They are warped so bad its ridiculous... Just get the brembo blanks or OEM... I am a fan of the green stuff pads though...

I have a set of Brembo X-Drilled rotors on both my Integra GSR and my 98 Civic EX. They both are running fairly aggressive pads and i haven't had any abnormal wear or warpage yet. I dont understand why people are so hesitant and afraid of X-Drilled rotors. They're not any thinner than regular rotors and therefore shouldnt' warp...also, since they have the X-Drilled holes in them, they shouldn't heat up nearly as much as a standard blank rotor...again making them less prone to warpage.

I am telling you my personal experience with the Brembo drilled/slotted rotors... For a car that isn't tracked you won't notice any difference between the drilled/slotted rotors and the blanks...

That's why i bought them in the first place. I nearly ran out of road at the end of the track when my old blank rotors started to fade. I'm hoping the X-Drilled rotors will help in that...they should not fade nearly as quickly as my old ones. Plus, after 10-12 track passes and slowing from 115mph, my rotors were starting to show signs of warpage.

ok well the reason i want x rotors is bc i crack pads alot from over heating them by using reg rotors, and autocross def heats them to the point were they will crack on me for some reason. i also was told about ATE or ATD brake company i think its ATE. so if anyone knows about those will help me as well.

Honestly i'm a big fan of proslot rotors. if you're having that much of a problem with over heating your pads, you should probably go with brake up-grade.

with a larger rotor you're going to get more leverage so in-turn its going to take less pressure from the bad to stop the same amount. another thing i was just thinking about is that there is a good chance that you're getting hot spots. a multi piston caliper should help even out the braking force thus heating it up more evenly... cracks usually spawn from un-even expansion/contraction.

just a thought.

I track my car with brembo blanks and hawk hps pads and no warping or heat cracking at all, HPDE sessions are by far longer than auto-x sessions as well. Make sure you have fresh fluid, that is one of the biggest factors for brake fade.

well my car does have 204k miles on it so alot can factor into my probs i guess and i dnt wanna sink alot of loot into a car with 204k is why i am just looking for the cheep way via diff pads an rotors. well ima change out the fluid this weekend and i guess replace the cracked pads and poss change rotors. ill think abbout the multi piston calipers. im running oem rotors with ceramic pads as we speak. i hear thats not such a great combo from the local auto-x guys. im new to auto-x and need to stay in the same class of cars so i dnt get my *** beat to bad lol

Once you figure out which pads/rotors you want, check Amazon. I was shocked when I recently found out that they sell automotive parts, but they have some amazing prices, and usually offer free shipping! (even on a heavy part like rotors).

It's been common knowledge for a while that drilled rotors, tend to crack when used on the street. Slotted are ok.

There are a ton of good pads out there, it's mainly personal perference.

I wrote in one of these threads yesterday, I'm happy with my Bendix ceramic pads.

For wrapped rotors, in most cases you just need to "bed in the brakes" and that fix's it.

Do 4-5 almost stop's from 50mph (50mph to 5mph) in rapid sucession and then drive the car without stopping for a mile or so to let the brakes cool.

You could posible do the same thing by riding the brakes on the highway for a short time.

thank you guys for all the help. i think i am goin to trial the brembo slotted rotors and greenstuff pad or maybe the brembo pads, or possibly both pads as a trial to see what i like the best. and again i appreciate all the poss feedback.

ok i was on a local websit and found a gsr full brake swap for 250 bucks. im thinking about just doin that now and see how it stops and lasts. is that a good price for a full swap it sounds like a good price
