Brake Rotors Are Burning RED!!!
I was driving home tonight and started to notice my steering wheel shaking badly at 80mph so I pull over and smell burning brakes.
I go to look at the rotors and they are smoking and are red hot. So I just drive home slowly. What could the problem be for this to happen? The only thing I did to my brakes was change the brake pads but have driven hundreds of miles on them and they have been fine. Thanks. |

was it just one corner or both? could be a seized caliper or something
|
yeah that happened after we changed brakes in my brothers car....the parking brake was gummed up and didn't release, so we hit the highway and the damn brakes actually caught fire! hehe

Holy crap, thats crazy, you didn"t do any heavy braking did you? I would also bet a seized caliper

It was just on a portion of the rotor, not the whole thing.
Seized caliper means i need a new one, right? |
