Brake question
Right now my brakes feel really squishy, and I'm 99% sure my MC is leaking pretty bad. With my brakes leaking this bad, what all do I need? Just the MC? Or do I need the brake booster to go with it? What about ABS? And what about JDM MC's and boosters? The same as USDM? Need answers ASAP if you can, gonna buy this stuff today or tomorrow. Thanks for any help
Chris

Re: Brake question (JapTendencies)
Have you checked it for obvious leaks? I have never heard of upgrading to a JDM MC. A freind put GSR brakes on his hatch and also put the GSR MC on. We have yet to get it on the road yet to see if the proportioning valve is correct.

Oh yeah, there are leaks, like I said I'm 99% sure it's the MC, but just wondering if I need other stuff with it like the brake booster or the prop valve or something. And the JDM reference isn't an upgrade, I just have access to some right now. And I did the GSR MC, prop valve, etc. Now do I need to get a prop valve too? Or prolly just the MC and booster?

Yup... or you could upgrade the master AND booster...
If you have a 93-00 civic then you can upgrade to the integra RS (90-00) master and booster without having to re-bend any lines (not too big a deal but certainly easier not to)... It's 15/16ths instead of the stock 7/8ths.

Already have the GSR master and booster, I got a wrecked GSR and took the entire suspension/brakes/motor out of it. I just need to know if I need to do the booster along with the MC since my MC is so bad. I remember reading somewhere that if you catch your MC quick enough that you can just change that, but if you let it go and it gets real bad then you need to do both.
And anyone on the JDM stuff? I heard it's wired all backwards?

the fact that it's from japan isn't going to make it better... size will.
You do not need the booster. when those go bad they have totally different symptoms.

Thats not the point at all.
He just wants to be sure that im not missleading him. If you do go with a JDM setup,
not because its JDM but because they are easily availible, then you will need to
change your mc and booster for it to all mount up. Lines will be the same. Most
people think that they are fliped backwards because of the whole RHD thing but
its the same. Dosent get much easyer.

Re: Brake question (JapTendencies)
usually one of the symptoms of a leaking MC is when you hit the pedal and hold it, it starts to fall to the floor. so maybe your problem may be air in the system.

It goes to the floor with little pressure put on the pedal. Ok, so the consensus is I just need the MC, correct? And I need the MC and booster if I do a JDM one? And no, I'm NOT wanting to go JDM cuz of performance, just because people have offered them to me.
