Brake problem
I've got an 00 hatch with powerstop rotors up front. When I slow down the brakes will grab hard for a second with every tire revolution. If my rotors are warped, is it okay to get them turned at a shop or will the tooth chip up the slots and dimples? I don't have $120 to buy new rotors right now..

Re: Brake problem (Ricochet.)
if there just blank rotors, you can go get them resurfaced. But if they are warped then when you brake your card would shake...so i dunno if thats your problem. But you can just get them resurfaced, it doesnt cost that much https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: Brake problem (Ricochet.)
you should be able to turn them.

You can get them turned but the problem you described sounds like something other than warped rotors.

Re: (electronb16si)
exactly what i was saying, warped rotors would make your whole car shake when you brake

Re: (gezer)
I had warped roters on my front and back of my sol and every time i pressed on the brake it was like i had abs in the car the pedal would pulse and the car wouldent stop right. I resurfaced my roters and proplem was gone. As for the sloted and drilled, if the guy knows what hes doing you should be fine....

Re: (nocternaldragon)
turning is the resurfacing of drums
you can have the front rotors machined even tho they are cross drilled or slotted etc. explain your brake problem more so we have more of an understanding. warped rotors would simply cause a pulsation during braking at speeds above 20 mph. |
Re: (IVI)
It could also be stuck calipers ect ect.. Please be more specific on your problem

Re: Brake problem (Ricochet.)
This problem only happens sometimes.. I can go days without it doing this.
The car acts like I'm hitting the brake for a split second, once every tire revolution, and is worse when I actually am hitting the brakes just to slow down for a light. It has to be something with the brakes or rotors because it even does this in neutral while rolling to a stop. |
