brake pedal pressure
hey guys, i drive a 1994 Honda Civic Cx. so recently i replaced my brake shoes and when i put everything back together, there was a significant amount of play in the brake pedal. with the car id have to press down about a few inches before it would catch. I know before it would never do this.
All I did was replace the shoes and that was it. I didnt bleed the brakes. Also, the piston thingy popped out of place but it didnt come apart...so i pressed it back in place.
anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Re: brake pedal pressure (13BT)
did you loosen the brake fluid cap?? if did you put it back on and check the fluid level??
when you compress the piston in to put new pads, you have to pump up the brakes BEFORE you attempt to move the car.

Re: brake pedal pressure (civictildeath)
yep i removed the cap actually.
pump the brakes before you move the car? i guess i did that. i mean the car was back on the ground but i pumped them.
does this apply to the drum brakes?
