Brake Parts Compatibility
I have a 95 CX hatch, with a 98 gsr motor. i recently bought a gsr one inch MC, from brewerhatch
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=877965
tomorrow im going to the junkyard to get a 95 integra SE 4 wheel disk setup, LCA's and all. the guy said i can have any hydraulics for 10 dollars a pop too
What compatibility issues am i going to have with this setup? Will the SE booster (which im assuming is the same as a LS) work well with/ better then the CX booster, in cunjunction with my GSR MC?
Also will i be able to grab the prop and use it?
Finally, im assuming i need civic SI brake cables? correct?

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility (xerox445)
To do the Integra rear disk swap to an eg you need 92-95 Si brake lines, Brake cables, and proportioning value and any Integra rear disk 94-01 or Civic rear disk 92-95. every thing else can stay. If you do change the master out to the Gsr one I'm pretty sure you need the Gsr booster. I have Integra rear disk on my 96 hatch changed out the lines, cables, and proportioning value they work great.

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility (John Conner)
yeah im doing a full swap tho, and i want to do it right, im getting my car ready for solo-d.
I want the bigger booster, the bigger MC, the correct proportion valve. I dont want to use the puny cx civic parts on big integra brakes...

I'm sure the booster will line up and bolt up fine... it's just not the one designed for that master... I'd recomend using the right one although it's not IMPERITIVE.
Also will i be able to grab the prop and use it?
Yes
Finally, im assuming i need civic SI brake cables? correct?
[b]No idea... I used the cables that came off the doner teg They work fine just didn't bolt up in all the spots they should've... but they work fine. [b]
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Just some Info for the sake of info..
A. I used 93 Integra rear trailing arms for my rear disk conversion... they bolt up and work FINE... the only difference is some bushings... the LCA for the teg's have larger bushings as do the 90-93 RTA for tegs...
B. If you have a coupe... you can not use rear SI brake hoses... they don't fit. You can however use 93 integra rear brake hoses... they do fit
Good luck.

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility (NonovUrbizniz)
good info!
so is it safe to assume that any 94+ integra Brake booster will work with any 94+ integra Master Cyl?

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility (xerox445)
All the one's I've seen are the same bolt pattern..
you just need to make sure it bolts up and seals properly... if that's the case it will work.
FYI junkyard brake parts aren't always the best idea... stuff goes bad when it sits outside. especially hydrolic items. sitting is the worst thing you can do to a car and it's parts.
Make sure you check ALL the bushings and ball joints etc before AND after installing everything...
And take it easy on the test drive.

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility (xerox445)
in order to do the setup properly you will need the following
rear trailing arm assy off of a 94-95 civic ex w/abs, 92-95 civic si, 94-01 integra
e brake cables for any of the cars listed above
40/40 proportional valve (not required, i have seen people race without them) off of a 94+ integra without abs
you can use your stock civic brake lines just fine or upgrade to stainless lines for an integra
you cannot put a 94-01 integra ms on a civic bb unless it is off of a 94-95 civic ex with abs or 93-95 civic si. you must get a brake booster for that mc and you will need to re-flare the line because the rear fitting ont he GSR 1" mc is larger than a stock civic one
if you have any more questuions feel free to pm me

for those that have done the brake conversion. i just did mine last week and im having problems. after driving the car a few times around the block the rear brakes lock up. any idea what it could be? i changed the mc, booster and prop valve when i did the conversion.

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility (93civicsedan)
Non-ABS LS master Cylinder (90-93) and ABS GSR Brake booster will not work together. Clearances are not correct and when the LS Master Cyl. is bolted to the GSR Booster it pushes the pistion half way in on the Master Cyl.
So I am assuming the opposite would also give you problems.
In my EG I have a reman Nissin Master Cylinder/Brake booster for a 90 Integra LS.
I also have a GSR brake booster I could sell if you end up needing one.

I believe my booster is from a gsr at least thats what the person i bought it from told me. Im using it with a 15/16 mc which is this came on the RS models since it doesnt have ABS. My brakes work great except Im having problems with the rears locking up. Ill be changinf the calipers this week to see if thats the problem other than that everything bolted up fine to my eg.

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility
OK... Called acura today and apparently you can't get RTA bushings... you can only buy the whole arm... SO... I'd stick with 94+ no matter what just so you have replacement options like Mugen.

Re: Brake Parts Compatibility (93civicsedan)
has anyone used integra brake cables on a hatch? My friend said i should just take them, cut them shorter and "re-clamp" them on the right right length
