can anyone suggest some BETTER than stock brake pads?
Hawk HPS were suggested to me and they're about 73 bux a pair.. (canadian)
what are ppl's opinions on these pads?
i dont want to spend TOO much money either.. so any suggestions would be great.
thanks!

Re: brake pad suggestions (EG_Si)
I've used Axxis MetalMaster, EBC Greenstuff, and AEM (Nissin) pads; they're all about the same as far as stopping power IMHO. The Axxis created a lot of black dust, the AEM squeal occasionally, and the EBC faded just slightly faster than the others.
Are these just for street use? Do you autocross? Drive at HPDEs? What is your budget?

Re: brake pad suggestions (Targa250R)
The HP+ squeel quite a bit, but they stop really well from what I hear.
I have Axxis Ultimates and I'm very happy with them. Will probably step up to the HP+ next time, though.

yea they're just for street use.. but i'd like to have some better braking power (better than stock atleast)
my budget is lets say.. around 80 bux cdn.. so like 60 usd?!
considering the hawks are like only 73 bux cdn..
and these pads will be used in conjunction w/ brembo blanks..

Re: brake pad suggestions
Hmm, as far i know, aint the rear brakes not as important as the front brakes...the rear does help braking, but i reckon its 20-30% compared to the front. Btw...anyone tried Endless/Project MU brake pads?? Any gd??

Re: brake pad suggestions (slow-mo)
yea i realize the back arent as important.. but i need to replace mine.. so i might as well just pay a few extra bucks and get nicer ones right?
after talking to some more ppl they suggested PBR MetalMasters.. pretty cheap.. 40 bux cdn for a pair of pads.. neone have experience w/ these as well??
one of my frends used project mu and he's really happy w/ them.. altho quite pricey..

Re: brake pad suggestions (EG_Si)
I'm runing VGX brake pads. $19.99 a pair.
I've only had then for a few days and i like them. they are better then stock and they seem to grip well. cant beat the price either. summit racing.

Rite on....in that case i be changin mine to Project MU. The other option is endless Ic...was wondering why were you concentrating on the rear brakes and not the front..ehehheee. Yeh, go change to some after market pads...they brake better then stock.

Re: brake pad suggestions (slow-mo)
my other frend had endless pads on his itr.. he sed they were really good as well.. but created a lot of dust..
and to answer your question as to why im concentrating on the rear.. its b/c my rear rotors have crazy rust on them.. and my pads are down to about 5%.. if not LESS so they need to be changed newayz.. so might as well upgrade
but yea, based on talking to some more ppl i think i will probably be going w/ PBR MetalMasters.. altho i would like to hear what ppl think about these pads..

Re: brake pad suggestions (EG_Si)
I paid just under $100 USD for the Ultimates for front and rear, but I'm unsure of the Hawk pads. Check http://www.cobaltfriction.com.

Re: brake pad suggestions (clm)
hmm.. okok i understand that some pads require you to get them pretty hot for them to work @ its peak performance.. are ultimates one of them? (sorry im a n00b w/ this stuff)

Re: brake pad suggestions (clm)
IMO you don't need to spend a **** load of $$ on JDM pads (Endless, project mu). Give Andy from Cobalt Friction a call. Very nice guy and very knowledgeable. Tell him your budget. As mentioned, I'd go with the Axis Ultimates with some good brake fluid, like ATE Super Blue. 1 can (1liter) of ATE Blue goes for about $8. You will notice a huge difference in braking... Good luck..

I have axxis ultimates on new rotors and I am happy/satisfied with them as street pads.

Ultimates are not one of them, but having them warm doesn't hurt any.

Re: brake pad suggestions (Mr Miyagi)
If you dont mind a bit of dust on your wheels, go for HP+, thats what I went for last week! Let me tell these with some good discs make one hell of a job! My break in period is not even over!
