Default Brake Master Cylinder going Out

Has anyone had this happen to them on their car? My brakes went to ****, and the pedal went real soft. Took it in today and they said my brakes were good, but the "heart" of the breaking system, the master cylinder is bypassing. Makes sense to me, I was just wondering how often this happens? Is it from old age or because I race on a stock braking system? I'm also getting my fluid flushed and having all the air sucked out. Hopefully that'll bring life back to my brakes.

It's about $200-300 so it's not a cheap fix, but it's a saftey issue so I'm happy to throw down.

put a itr master cylinder and brake booster, it wil make your pedal very stiff.

bleed and flush your own brakes, it easy and it only cost you $15 if that
