Default Brake and Headlight inspection

i got a gsr hatch salvage title. i need a brake and headlight inspection so says the dmv...they say i can get it done @ the same place i get my smog done @. has anyone gone thru this any help is appreciated. i also have jdm headlights...will this make a difference?

you need to make sure that you have USDM corner lights and tail lights or you will not pass the inspection. most of the time brake and light places will overlook jdm headlights. this is on a civic right?

yeah a 93 civic hatch...will they pop my hood? i have jdm corners but i can get stock ones also...

I don't see why you would need OEM corners. As long as it omits the correct color for a turn signal (amber) in the front and red or amber in the rear, you should be fine.

It's obvious why they do this. But no, I do not know anyone that has done this.

I have done this, best thing to do is go stock on the headlights if u can..jdm corners shouldnt matter but go stock. Also they will measure ur brake pads and rotors if they are thin they will fail u. So if you can put a new set on and u should be fine. Just try to be legit if not u wont pass.

USDM corners because there needs to be a reflector... if there isn't a reflector most inspection sites will fail you. that's why i stated eariler that factory USDM lights should be installed. if color were the only thing then US cars would be equipped with the same corner/tail lights as JDM civics...

well thier should be smog station around your area, look in the phone book some shops that do smog will do brake and light inspection should be around $70-80 for both if u pass, also do u need a chp inspection..if so goodluck..as the officer that inspected my car was a bitch
