Brake grinding problems
Okay everyone I'm back again because when I'm In a bind this website helps a ton
Okay so a few days ago I was going onto a highway and a bone head stopped compleatly on an access road so to a avoid a collision I slammed on my breaks then they immediately started making this metal to metal grinding noise
I thought it was my break pads my dad thought it was my drive train bent but we replaced both those and it still grinds
It turns out the inside of the wheel is grinding on the brake shoe or caliper thing that hold the break pads in place.
I have no idea what is causing the two to grind
Any ideas on what needs to be adjusted or replaced would be sooooo helpful because I am just stumped
Thanks so much!

Re: Brake grinding problems
Is the rim out of round...."bent?"
Or are the bolts that hold the caliper/caliper mounting bracket...tight or even still there? Maybe a cracked spindle where the mounting bracket attaches....

Re: Brake grinding problems
I am going to swith the tires and put the left wheel on the right and vise versa to see if it is the wheel that is causing it because it is only on the front left wheel
but all the bolts are there and tight no cracks that i can see

Re: Brake grinding problems
the bracket that holds the caliper is missing a bolt and that is why it is stuck out a little and is grinding on the wheel
does anyone know a website that would have a diagram of a brake system with the part numbers ?

Re: Brake grinding problems
You don't need to buy honda parts for that. You can go to your local parts store and buy a caliper bolt kit and be good to go. I managed to lose a caliper bolt during autocross season last year.
