brake fade problems
this is a 94 civic ex non abs, rear disc conversion
new brake fluid
bled 3 times now
not loosing any fluid
so i swapped in rear disc with a 30/40 prop valve. bled the brakes. and was having problems when i was on a hill the brake pedal would start to fade and then i would pump it and it would hold pressure for a little longer.
so i swapped over to a early prelude mc that is 15/16 and im still having problems with the brake fade. in the next couple days im gonna get a brake bleeding machine and try that.
otherwise do you guys know why the brake pedal would be fading like this? what causes it usually? with a little pressure i can feel it fade almost to the floor

Re: brake fade problems (sohctodohc)
brake fade is when the pads, rotors and fluid heats up and doesnt slow you down like it should.
your problem just sounds like you have a leak, a line is expanding or one of your seals, probably in your mc is bad.

Re: brake fade problems (count me out)
might be the mc. but i cant imagine my old one goin bad and now the new one having a bad seal to.
when you put on a new mc do you have to bench bleed it??? cause i didnt.
also there is no leaks anywhere i have never once been low on fluid and the fluid in the system is brand new.

you can bench bleed it on the car, but yeah, you will put air into your system without bleeding it before hooking up the lines.

you dont cap them off when you bleed it. you need to get a bench bleed kit with comes with lines and nipples to screw into the mc line holes.
