Default Brake booster VS. Intake Manifold?

So i've had this minor problem with my em1, if i pump my brakes while the car is at idle then the idle rpms increase.... could this be from a vacuum leak between the brake booster and intake mani? I'm hoping thats all this is so i can just replace that funky shaped vacuum hose. Give me some input, thanks

well yeah, but rpms are going higher than they used to.. ehh maybe my cars just gettin old. I may replace the hose anyways just to see what happens. And i can think of a lot of cars that dont do that... so no, not "all" cars do that.

Fine it may not be all cars. But every single one of the 22 cars I'VE owned, do it.

I'm not tryin to argue with you haha, my z28 didn't do it. But I'm also not sayin that my civic didn't do it before, its just increased the rpms that it hits and I'm wondering if it could be a leaky vacuum line. It also does this very very random whining thing while the car if off, it kinda sounds like a fuel pump priming only a higher pitch...anyone else have this? Haha it pisses me off!

theres a check valve between the booster and the manifold check that to see if its working that high pitch sound might be a vacuum leak

Thanks, I'm not thinking that high pitched whining noise is going to be a vacuum problem, it only does it when the car is off, I could go a whole day or two without drivin it and it will still do it...it runs fine and has done it for several years, more annoying than anything.

Oh a high pitch whine? Hmmm. That could def. be a vacuum leak. Grab a can of ether and spray all the vac. lines and see if the rpms fluctuate.
