I'm going with clogged fuel injector. I had the same sound until I ran some Lucas fuel additive throught my fuel tank. Now the sound is gone. And yes, I have a short ram intake. Also, I went from 300 miles/tank before Lucas to (I've only been through one tank since I put it in) 344 miles on the tank I raced on. Give it a try.

I'll say it's the exhuast manifold/header separating from the catalytic convertor between shifts where the spring bolts are.

Mine used to do it a lot before I got poly engine mount inserts.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought he has purchased one of those damn BOV sounds simulators. I was about to flame it.

But it most likely is you're intake.

Do you still have AC? Does your AC have the pieces that you use to refill capped?

When i had my AC whenever i had it on and i would rev it would sound like a BOV. If i open my hood and uncap it i could even see it purge some freeon. I think my needle was broken, i never fixed it because i pulled the AC. But i would check that if you have it.

i think its the intake. my friend's intake does the same thing. he doesn't have the hose that connect from the intake to the engine, so it makes a whistling sound.

I had that sound when I got my magnaflow muffler put on. I don't know why it did it or what was causing it but it eventually went away. Did you get a new muffler?

There is a guy at my work who has one of those on his MUSTANG!!! I make fun of him all the time. He also has a red neon underbody kit and wants to get the plastic intercooler. What is really bad is he has a built NA motor and puts down 370 to the wheels.

nah i didnt get a new muffler..my current setup is a skunk2 megapower exhaust with a testpipe and jdm 4-1 integra headers....before i had stock b16 headers and stock cat with the skunk2 exhaust and no bov sound....always had the short ram intake....wondering if the bigger diameter of 2.5" of the testpipe and header would cause this sound? thanx alot
