Bouncing Gas Guage...Help...

Hi, I know im new here but I have a question for u guys and I hope u can help hehe. I was driving on the freeway today and I was at a quarter tank of gas. After awhile I noticed that my gas guage was bouncing slowly from quarter tank to empty. It would slowly go down to empty and then go back again to a quarter tank. I finally just decided to stop at a gas station since I was getting scared. I filled it up to a full tank and it went up all the way to full so I guess its ok for now. Has this gas guage bouncing happened to anyone else other than me. Im going to try and go to the dealer tomorrow to ask what may be wrong with it. Thanks in advance. By the way, I drive a 97 Honda Civic DX Hatch.

Sounds like the sending unit may be going bad.

its normal. when you go uphill, downhill, or turning the needle fluctuates. park on a slanted driveway and your gas will read less then on a flat surface.

My car has been doing that too since the day I bought it...

Same here..its normal...when I step on it, my gas level drops like mad and when I hit the brakes pretty hard, my gas level goes up.

It's normal. It depends on where the sending unit is on the gastank. If it up front and you're going uphill, your level will go down. If you're going downhill, your level will go up.

Hell, on my Jeep, the pump and unit are WAY up on the front. On some steep inclines (offroading) sometimes I don't let fuel get to the motor and it stalls out.
